Meet the team behind HMC Tax Group

Charles Whaley, CPA, CHBC
Director of Tax Services & Integrator
Charles Whaley is the guy who makes sure taxes don’t catch you off guard. As Director of Tax Services at The Dental CFO, he leads our tax team and helps clients make smart, informed decisions—especially when it comes to the tax impact of big moves in their business.

He earned his undergrad at NC State (Go Wolfpack!) and his Master’s in Accounting from Appalachian State.
Outside the office, Charles is big on giving back. He serves on the boards of Meals on Wheels – Rowan and Main Street Marketplace & Meeting Place, two nonprofits close to his heart. When he’s not working or volunteering, you’ll probably find him hiking a trail, playing the piano, experimenting in the kitchen, or planning his next family trip. He lives in Salisbury with his wife Lauren, their two awesome kids, Margaret and Banks, and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Ginger.
